Dr. Robert A. Corrigan served as the 12th president of San Francisco State University from September 1988 to July 2012.
Before that, Dr. Corrigan served nine years as chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Subsequently, Dr. Leslie E. Wong, Oakland, California native, and former President of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan would become the successor of Dr. Robert A. Corrigan's presidency of San Francisco State University.
